The article deals with the questions of money origin and proper understanding of its role in the life of any modern society. Its historical evolution from the simplest goods to ways of expressing the value was investigated. The existence of commodity production, scientific and economic research into the money origin have formed different views. It's necessary to explore these issues in detail and show the local and international vision of the problem because modern economy is exposed to constant changes and transformation.

The origin and essence of money. Modern point of view

Attempts to determine the origin, nature and role of money have a long history. In particular those questions were put back in the writings of classical political economy by Adam Smith and David Ricardo. We notice a lot of conflicting opinions analyzing the current theoretical research on the money essence and nature. So the article was to explore these issues more deeply and show the vision of the problem because we consider it relevant in modern economy which is constantly changing and transformating.
