The graphs of water temperature velocity distribution throughout the height of experimental section were constructed and analyzed. The results obtained allow estimating the impact of water temperature that is closely situated to inversion point on the dynamics of water ice melting and generation as well as on the form factors of cold accumulators. The local cell membrane deformation as the first induction stage(1998) Karpov, AlexanderA hypothetic mechanism of the external effect of viruses, synthetic polyaniones, double-stranded RNAs, and synthetic double-stranded polyribonucleotides upon a cell is explained. This effect is known to be followed by the α/β-interferons induction. Double-stranded RNAs and polynucleotides inducing such process are thought to change their conformation in an outer ionic perimembrane layer of cells and to induce the specific local deformation of cell membranes giving a signal for the α/β-interferons induction. In the case of viruses such a membrane deformation appears on the stage of virus penetration into the cell. Within comparatively short periods of on-peak demand a noticeable amount of thermal energy related to ice melting is to be released, it becomes clear that not only sizing of ice accumulators based on balance calculations is actual, but also the determination of time periods of ice accumulation becomes critical. This work presents an experimental unit for obtaining data on the ice formation on the vertical cooled pipes and later on to continuously register data on the ice thickness diminishing at the regimes of ice melting when cooling of pipe stops. The data for ice formation and melting for some regimes have been presented and analyzed. The data form the base for deriving semi-empirical correlations allowing to determine time intervals necessary to generate of water ice layers of given thickness.Документ A two-stage cultivation technique for producing microbial exopolysaccaride ethapolan with improved rheological properties(2001) Pirog, Tatiana; Malashenko, Yuri; Votselko, S.A two-stage technique was proposed for cultivating producers of microbial exopolysaccharide ethapolan. The practical value of ethapolan is determined by its rheological properties. The use of a formaldehyde-supplemented medium at the second stage of cultivation improved the rheological properties of ethapolan without reducing its yield. This effect of formaldehyde was due to its binding to the exopolysaccharide, which altered the molecular-weight characteristics of the latter and protected cells against the toxic action of formaldehyde.
