Abstract

The destruction of yeast and bacterial biofilms on silicone tubes by surfactants synthesized by Nocardia vaccinii IMV B-7405 in combination with antifungal agents and tea tree essential oil was investigated. The mixtures demonstrated synergistic activity, with biofilm destruction being 10–30% higher than that of the individual components. The results indicate the potential of N. vaccinii IMV B-7405 surfactants as components of antibacterial and antifungal catheter lock solutions
