Abstract

The ability of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus IMV B-7241 surfactants synthesized in the presence of Saccharomyces cerevisiae BTM-1 to destroy Candida tropicalis PE-2 and Candida albicans D-6 biofilms was studied. The introduction of live or inactivated S. cerevisiae cells or the corresponding supernatant increased the biofilm-destructive activity of surfactants when crude glycerol was used as the substrate. The maximum destruction of C. tropicalis PE-2 biofilm reached 92–95%, which was 1.5-fold higher than that achieved with surfactants synthesized without an inducer
