Abstract
The paper focuses on improving the staff onboarding system in a restaurant establishment located in a small town. Using the case of a cafe-bar in Zinkiv, Poltava region, it was found that the current staff adaptation process is mainly informal and lacks a unified sequence of actions, clear assessment criteria and full feedback. An onboarding system is proposed, based on gradual entry into the position, mentoring and internship checklists. It includes preparatory, introductory, practical and final stages, defines responsible persons and helps reduce the adaptation period, decrease staff turnover and maintain a more stable level of service.
