Abstract
The antiadhesive activity of surfactants synthesized by Acinetobacter calcoaceticus IMV B-7241 in the presence of live and inactivated cells and supernatant of Bacillus subtilis BT-2 as biological inductors was investigated. At a surfactant concentration of 96 μg/mL, treatment of steel and linoleum with the obtained surfactants reduced the adhesion of bacterial test cultures, with adhesion on linoleum ranging from 20–70% compared with 62–90% after treatment with surfactants synthesized without an inductor. The results demonstrate the potential for enhancing the antiadhesive activity of microbial surfactants by cultivating A. calcoaceticus IMV B-7241 in the presence of competitive B. subtilis BT-2 cells
