These include some particular articles of the Constitution (the main law) of Ukraine (VRU, 1996), the Law of Ukraine on Environmental Protection (VRU, 1995), relevant articles of Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (1984) and Criminal Code of Ukraine (VRU, 2001) and many others. Starting from 2014, Ukraine began the implementation of key elements of EU legislation in terms of the EU – Ukraine Association Agreement (AA, 2014). And according to the Cabinet of Ministry of Ukraine, currently Ukraine implemented about 80% of European Union legal norms into national legislation as for the environmental protection (CMU, 2024). Good example of effective implementation of the EU laws into the legislation of Ukraine is an adapting a new Law of Ukraine on Waste Management (2022), which introduces European principles and European hierarchy in waste management into Ukrainian legislation.Документ Environmental policies of the European union as a roadmap for modern Ukraine(2018) Yakymenko, Igor; Salavor, Oksana; Shapovalov, YevheniiStudying of the European Union policies and best practices in environmental protection is both significantly important and challenging for Ukrainian audience because environmental protection is a critical issue for modern Ukraine due to long-term destructive legacy ofsoviet/colonial period. Answering to this challenge, the Department ofEnvironmental Science at the National University of Food Technologies introduced Jean Monnet Module on Environmental Protection in the EU under the grant support of European Union Erasmus+ Programme. The Jean Monnet Module addresses to better understanding ofEuropean policy and effective practices for environmental protection and sustainability. The Module comprises university teaching courses on European tools, policies and best practices in environmental protection for Master’s students in Environmental Science, and in Food Technologies, and summer schools for policy-makers, representatives ofNGOs, industry experts, and the public. Key words: Erasmus+, Jean Monnet Project, the European Union, environmental protection, environmental policies, university teaching course, summer school.Документ GSM 900 MHz cellular phone radiation can either stimulate or depress early embryogenesis of Japanese quail depending on the duration of exposure(2013) Tsybulin, Alexander; Sidorik, Evgeniy; Brieieva, Olga; Buchynska, Lubov; Kyrylenko, Sergey; Henschel, Denis; Yakymenko, IgorIn embryos irradiated during 38 hr, the number of pairs of somitesincreased; while otherwise, in embryos irradiated during 158 hr this number decreased. The lower duration of exposure led to a significant decrease in a level of DNAstrand breaks; while on the contrary, the higher duration of exposure resulted in a significant increase of DNA damages as compared to controls. Документ GSM 900 MHz microwave radiation affects embryo development of Japanese quails(2012) Tsybulin, Alexander; Sidorik, Evgeniy; Kyrylenko, Sergey; Henschel, Denis; Yakymenko, IgorThe irradiation led to a significant increase in numbers of differentiated somites in 38-hour exposed embryos and to a significant increase in total survival of embryos from exposed eggs after 14 days exposure. A level of thiobarbituric acid (TBA) reactive substances was significantly higher in brains and livers of hatchlings fromexposed embryos.Документ Healthy lifestyle behaviors among university students in Ukraine(2018) Yakymenko, Igor; Tsybulin, Alexander; Shapovalov, YevheniiМета роботи. Objective. To study the commitment of students of Ukrainian universities to a healthy lifestyle. Materials and methods. The method of voluntary anonymous questioning assessed the commitment of students of two universities in the Kiev region (n = 211) to a healthy lifestyle. Results. Revealed; that among students aged 17 to 21 years; overweight are 7; 1% of students; a significant part of the youth; especially guys (74; 7%); systematically engaged in physical exercises. At the same time; 25; 6% of students smoke and 61; 6% drink alcohol (at least sometimes). Less than half of those surveyed consume enough fruits and vegetables and dairy products daily. More than 70% of students admit a negative environmental impact on their health and admit insufficient material support for a better commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Conclusions. In general, students in Ukraine have a greater commitment to a healthy lifestyle; than older generation; but smoking and alcohol consumption remain a serious threat to her health.Документ Jean Monnet Chair «European union policies, regulations and best practices in sustainable food production and consumption»(2019) Yakymenko, Igor; Salavor, Oksana; Sebkova, Katarina; Shapovalov, YevheniiJean Monnet Module “Tools, Policies and Best Practices for Environmental Protection in the European Union” (# 574796-EPP-1-2016-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) has been implemented at Department of Environmental Safety of National University of Food Technology, Kyiv, Ukraine under the grant support of Erasmus+ programme during 2016-2019. Poultrymanure is the main ecological problem of poultry farms and its poor management can cause seriousenvironmental damage. As far as birds absorb energy of plant feed badly and that more than half ofthe energy is used unproductively – it goes to the manure, it can be seen as a powerful source ofrenewable energy. Methane digestion is an effective method of animal waste processing. Poultry manure has a higher fraction of biodegradable organic matter than other livestock wastes. The aim of our study was to investigate methanogenesis of chicken manure in a wide range of moisture content values in the mesophilic mode.Документ Overproduction of free radical species in embryonal cells exposed to low intensity radiofrequency radiation(2013) Burlaka, A.; Tsybulin, Alexander; Sidorik, Evgeniy; Lukin, S.; Polishuk, Victoria; Tsehmistrenko, S.; Yakymenko, IgorExposure leads to sustainable likely increased production of superoxide and nitric oxide in embryonic cells throughout the period of analysis. The result is an increase of TBA-reactive compounds and oksohuanozinu cells. Risks of carcinogenesis from electromagnetic radiation of mobile telephony devices(2010) Yakymenko, Igor; Sidorik, EvgeniyLatest epidemiological data reveal a significant increase in risk of development of some types of tumors in chronic (over 10 years) users of mobile phone.
