Prospects for privatization of Ukrainian state-owned banks

Abstract

В тезах розглядаються перспективи приватизації державних банків в Україні. Доведено, що зростаня частки державних банків у банківській системі у кризові часи є типовим явищем для більшості економік. Однак світова практика доводить необхідність їх подальшої приватизації через наявність певних ризиків. Розглянуто заходи, прийняті НБУ щодо підготовки до приватизації державних банків та перспективний вплив таких рішень на банківську систему та фінансовий ринок.

The theses consider the prospects for the privatization of state-owned banks in Ukraine. It is proven that the growth of the share of state-owned banks in the banking system in times of crisis is a typical phenomenon for most economies. However, world practice proves the need for their further privatization due to the presence of certain risks. The measures taken by the NBU to prepare for the privatization of state-owned banks and the prospective impact of such decisions on the banking system and the financial market are considered.
