Mosaics of the nowadays Ukraine as a resurrection of Kyiv Rus traditions

Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the history of "Golden Gate" metro station - a unique example of the contemporary Ukrainian art. Being created at the last days of Soviet Union, this station proclaimed unity of past and present Ukraine. Individual design and mosaics of this station was made as a resurrection of Kyiv Rus mosaic art. Copying elements of interior of the most prominent ancient Ukrainian Cathedrals made this project much deeper and special, than Soviet mosaic have ever been.
