Aspects of influence of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium on interferonogenesis and phagocytic cells activity
(2009) Spivak, Mykola; Pidgorsky, Valentin; Lazarenko, Lyudmila; Shynkarenko, Lyubov; Olevinska, Zoya; Timoshok, Natalia; Starovoitova, Svitlana
The introduction of Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidofilus, Lactobacillus casei or Lactobacillus bulgaricus to mice was accompanied by increase of functional activity of phagocytosis system cells proved by stimulation of oxygen-depending bactericide and absorbing activity of peritoneal macrophages. As our date testifies the composition on the basis of Bifidobacterium bifidum, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus acidofilus, Lactobacillus casei or Lactobacillus bulgaricus is the most perspective for probioticoimmunotherapy.

Herpetical infection in mice and protective activity the composition of lactobacteria
(2010) Timoshok, Natalia; Starovoitova, Svitlana; Shy, D.; Shevchuk, V.; Spivak, Mykola
The protective activity of the lactobacteria composition under herpetic meningo-encephalitis connected with endogenic interferon stimulation during the whole terms of observation was 6 days. Thus, introducing of lactobacteria composition permitted to increase mice splenocytes activity, so they induced more interferon –α and –γ in vitro in response to an adequate induction. Thus, is has been revealed the significant efficacy of lactobacteria composition use on the model of mice herpetic meningo-encephalitis, which was stipulated activation by the system of interferon control animals.

Study of biological properties of lacto- and bifidobacteria in vitro
(2009) Starovoitova, Svitlana; Lazarenko, Lyudmila; Shynkarenko, Lyubov; Spivak, Mykola
It is experimentally shown that all cultures of lacto- and bifidobacteria possess the wide spectrum of antagonistic activity and are the active antagonists of pathogenic microorganisms and also yeasts of genus Candida.
