Документ Principles of foreign language learning in European integration processes(2024) Kovalova, Olena; Nikitenko, Olga; Malyk, YulianaEuropean integration processes refer to the various political, economic, and social changes taking place across Europe as countries work to integrate into the European Union (EU) and other international organizations. Learning foreign languages is an important component of this integration process as it enables people to communicate effectively with individuals from other countries. The purpose of the article is to substantiate main principles that are a necessary condition for the development of foreign language integrated skills, as they include all the necessary requirements for teaching foreign languages in the context of the European integration. The research of the article is based on analyzing work of Ukrainian scientists, who studied the peculiarities of the use of immersion method in teaching foreign languages and principles of its application at higher schools of Ukraine. The principles of foreign language learning in this context are influenced by the need for effective communication, intercultural understanding, and cooperation among member states. According to analyzing the latter, the following principles of modern methods of teaching a foreign language in the context of European integration were defined: communication focus, European dimension, cultural competence, practical application, collaborative learning.Документ Linguistic and translation aspects of political correctness in media texts(2022) Kovalova, Olena; Nikitenko, OlgaDue to globalisationand forming of international and intercultural relations, the role of political correctness as a guarantor of successful communication between different social groups is growing. Wide use of this lexical layer in media texts, direct influence of politically correct units on social relations through mass media and the insufficient number of studies related to the translation of French politically correct terminology in media discourse determine the relevance of the study. The relevance of the study is due to the factors that there is no single approach to the analysis of political correctness in the scientific literature, and there is no single definition of "political correctness" in spite of the fact that it is firmly established in many languages. Moreover, although political correctness as a tool of communicative strategy of behavior is aimed at avoiding social aggravation and achieving a conflict-free atmosphere in society, provokes a lot of heated debates, which fact does not meet its main purpose and only emphasizes the contradictions.
