Formation of professional competencies in biosafety and HACCP in the context of aligning Ukraine's biotechnology sector with EU standards

Abstract

Modern integration of HACCP into biotechnology increasingly utilizes the Quality by Design (QbD) concept. This allows not merely for the recording of hazards but for modeling the process such that risk is eliminated at the level of production architecture. For "precision fermentation" products, a mandatory verification for the absence of antibiotic resistance genes in the final product is required. Regulatory support for biotechnological production in the EU is now inextricably linked to Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA). A modern specialist must master the methodology of minimizing the "bio-footprint" and technologies for utilizing biomass as a secondary raw material within a circular economy. For Ukraine's successful integration into the European biotechnological space, educational and professional programs must shift their focus from purely technological processes toward regulatory engineering. Сучасна інтеграція HACCP у біотехнології все частіше використовує концепцію «Якість за проектом» (QbD). Це дозволяє не просто фіксувати небезпеки, а й моделювати процес таким чином, щоб усунути ризик на рівні виробничої архітектури. Для продуктів «прецизійної ферментації» обов’язкова перевірка на відсутність генів стійкості до антибіотиків у кінцевому продукті. Нормативно-правова підтримка біотехнологічного виробництва в ЄС зараз нерозривно пов’язана з оцінкою екологічного ризику (ERA). Сучасний спеціаліст повинен опанувати методологію мінімізації «біосліду» та технології використання біомаси як вторинної сировини в рамках циркулярної економіки. Для успішної інтеграції України в європейський біотехнологічний простір освітні та професійні програми повинні змістити свою спрямованість із суто технологічних процесів на регуляторну інженерію.
