Форсування Дніпра і взяття Києва зірвало плани Гітлера стабілізувати лінію фронту, створити неприступний «Східний вал» і перейти до затяжної позиційної війни з метою вимотування сил Червоної армії. Crossing of the Dnieper and taking Kyiv foiled Hitler stabilize the front line, to create an impregnable "Eastern Wave" and go to a protracted trench warfare for the purpose of wearing down the forces of the Red Army.
