    Recovering adsorptive properties of schungite after processing red beet juice

    When producing food dye from red beet juice part of impurities, especially pectin substances, is adsorbed by the carbon adsorbent - shungite, containing fullerenes and fullerene nanotubes. During adsorption of red beet juice, surface and pores of shungite are filled with impurities, resulting in decrease of its adsorptive properties.The purpose of the present studies was to select an effective method for regeneration of adsorbent and to establish rational technological parameters of this process.When choosing a method of regeneration, the authors of this paper were motivated by economic feasibility and took into account the availability of necessary equipment at canning factories.

    Physico-chemical and organkleptic properties of red beet juice purified by shungite

    Fresh red beet juice contains substances which coulddeteriorate its quality. Therefore, juice should be purifiedfirst. The promising method of purifying red beetjuice from unwanted impurities is using carbon-bearingadsorbent - shungite, uniqueness of which can beexplained by existence of fullerenes and nanotubes.The aim of this paper is to study how physico-chemicaland organoleptic properties of red beet juice changewhen processed by shungite. Проведено дослідження по відновленню адсорбційних властивостей природного мінерала шунгіта, який використано для очищення соку столового буряка від пектинових речовин при виробництві харчового барвника. Запропоновано два методи регенерації шунгіта із урахуванням економічної доцільності та наявності необхідного обладнання на консервних заводах. Встановлено раціональні параметри регенерації шунгіта.

    Adsorptive purification of food raw materials and semi-finished products with help of carbon and natural adsorbents

    For the study of adsorptive capacities of paligorskit and for the comparison between them and the adsorptive capabilities o f active carbons in order to create industrial combined sorbents, the authors conducted the research on adsorption of the ethyl impurities with the help of paligorskit, active carbon and combined adsorbents (whereas, active carbons and paligorskit were in the ratio 10:90, 30:70, 50:50). The best results were received when refining aqueous-alcoholic solutions with the help of combined adsorbents. The best results were obtained using a combined adsorbent ratio 10:90.

    Improving the technology of producing food grade dye from red beet juice

    Red beet juice is very useful food product, because it contains significant amount of sugars, mineral substances and vitamins. It is also valuable because it is used for producing food grade dye. Nowadays in order to give to food products a color, close to natural coloring of fruits and vegetables, expensive synthetic dyes are used, which might have cancer-inducing effect when being accumulated by human organism. The refore improving the technology for producing food grade dye from red beet juice is remarkably important task. Currently for the purpose of obtaining dye from red beet juice, a part of pectin substances,which make the process of juice concentration more difficult, is removed with the help of expensive enzymatic agents. The authors have suggested using natural carbon-bearing adsorbent shungite to purify red beet juice from pectin substances.

    Improvement of the quality and safety of alcohol solutions through their adsorptive refining by natural minerals

    This article presents the research results for adsorptive purification of alcoholic solutions from harmful impurities and heavy metals with paligorskite and gydromica. The authors have grounded the mechanism of adsorbing impurities by natural adsorbents.

    Using paligorskit for purifying the aqueous-alcoholic solutions

    Investigated the adsorption properties of palygorskite in the purification of water-alcohol solutions in vacuum. The efficiency of absorption of this natural mineral aldehydes, esters, higher alcohols under vacuum. Palygorskite proved reuse by its regeneration with superheated steam or carbon dioxide.

    Utilization of shungite forimproving quality and safety of juices
